12 Hits Para 2 Guitarras Flamencas

1969

Accompanied by orchestral arrangements, Paco and Ramón recorded a series of successes which now belong to the European and American canon. These songs are now known around the world, certified classics in what is now called easy-listening, some of which featured on cinema soundtracks. These pieces, well-known in their original versions are now played by two flamenco guitars and accompanied by electric organ and a string orchestra which sustain, without much success, the melodic discourse of the guitars, demonstrating once again the versatility of the flamenco guitar in interpreting pieces outside of its immediate musical environment. To flamenco-ise the idea of accompanying these hits with orchestra, Paco introduces a good part of the songs with some of his own pieces, and after giving this authentic and traditional accent the piece comes in unadorned. This was a requirement of an era in which record labels had more right to an opinion than artists, who simply didn’t give theirs.
